Sri Lanka’s Rajapaksa family, ruling party officials property attacked

ECONOMYNEXT – Sri Lanka violence which came after loyalists of ex-Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa attacked a site of peaceful protestors in the capital led to the torching and wrecking of residences and other property linked to ruling family and party officials.

Violent mobs attacked a property during the nigh of May 09 despite a curfew being imposed.

Temple Trees, the official residence of the Prime Minister was place under seige by thousands of protestors on the night of May 09 and vehicles which brought supporters were torched and toppled to a nearby lake.
