Sri Lanka gets diesel ship: Minister

ECONOMYNEXT –   Sri Lanka has got a cargo with 43,000 Metric tonnes of Diesel on Saturday morning, another consignment expected within the day, Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said.

The ministry completed the payments for two fuel ships by July 11, and expected a fuel ship to arrive on July 09.

However, Minister Wijesekera said, due to the bad weather conditions the ships were delayed.

Currently the fuel ship that arrived at Colombo harbor on Saturday morning is undergoing a quality sample checking.

The Minister said, another consignment of 40,000 MT is scheduled to arrive later today.

Payments have been completed for another Petrol consignment which is scheduled to arrive between July 18- 19, 2022.

Three more fuel cargos are also set to arrive in Colombo on payment on the delivery basis- 12-15th Diesel, 14-16th Heavy Fuel Oil and 15-17th Crude Oil.  (Colombo/ July 16/2022)
