India has not stopped visas for Sri Lanka citizens: HC

ECONOMYNEXT – India’s High Commission in Colombo said there has been no decision to stop the issue of visas for Sri Lanka visitors, but operations have been disrupted due to the inability of staff to report to work as usual.

“In the past few days, there were operational difficulties due to the inability of our Visa Wing staff, most of whom are Sri Lankan nationals, to attend office,” the Indian High Commission said in a statement.

“We are striving to return our functioning to the normal levels soon.

“We remain committed to facilitating ease of travel for Sri Lankans to India. Sri Lankans are welcome in India just as Indians are in Sri Lanka.
